Well, I would hope none of that would be allowed.

Personally, I think uniforms should be worn, then you have no problem with kids comparing their clothes. Whats wrong with tucking your shirt, looks neat, when you go out the door in the evening pull it out if you like, school is for learning. Bring back the paddle, we need more discipline in schools, because its not happening in most homes. Yeah, let you young fellows get tanned like we did, i once got paddled in my jock by coach Maddox, talk about stinging.

Since they are going to be that strict then they should furnish uniforms. I see mor kids coming across the line to Gate City now! (Before an uproar comes up over that post I am only kidding!) But seriously that is awful! IO can see the dress code like Trumpet says about PV but DB is crazy! Guess since they think they're better than everyone then they need to dress like it! Re: Dobyns Bennett dress code

If someone drops out of school because they don't want to wear something "the man" told them to wear (within reason), there are bigger issues at hand.

I would have liked uniforms I think. I could personally see myself designing them. It would enlist large comfy sweat pants, a nice cotton tshirt, and a zip front hoodie that doubles also as a pillow.

I do agree about uniforms dissolving some economic disparity during a time when kids can do and say some pretty cruel things.

That's what I liked about college, people on the most part used the week as a time for school, coming to class in suitable clothes or sweats, not really caring if they were "made up" or not. Just there to learn, or in some cases just there because attendance is taken in that class. Of course, you do have the girls who make class a club-attire event or some guys who pop the double collar or rock the extra obnoxious trucker hats...but for the most part, it's laid back. Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play. It is bound up with hatred, jealousy, boastfulness, disregard of all rules and sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence. In other words, it is war minus the shooting.

Re: Dobyns Bennett dress code

I guess school Admin is tired of some of these peeps coming to school half naked. Parents should shut up and sit down. If they didn't let their kids go to school looking like $10 whores, there wouldnt be as strict a policy on this. And also, welcome to the real world kiddies! I work for a company that has a dress code. If you don't like their dress code, you can go to the unemployment line. Thats how it is where I work.

Re: Dobyns Bennett dress code

I think it goes a wee bit to far. I mean I'm not wearing a shirt thats tucked in today, so I guess I'd not be allowed to go to school.

I think instead of worrying about every little detail, your schools might be better served worrying about, I don't know education. I mean shoot, we all know that your typical Christian school has dress codes and most of the ones who end up going to places like that end up being 10 times worse than anybody at a public school.

I appreciate security and all, but by going to an extreme, all you do is increase the people who 'buck the system'.
What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.

If they're going that far, they may as well institute a uniform rule.

Good luck in finding any shorts for a girl that make it to the knee, much less the bottom of her ass cheeks.
